Insurance Program Director

Job Profile Summary

The Insurance Program Director, is responsible for overseeing and leading teams to deliver the project(s) for clients and manages schedules, financials, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. The Insurance Program Director identifies and addresses potential issues and risks that may impact project deliverables, serves as the point of escalation for project-related activities, and is the escalation point for the Customer. The Director may be expected to work across multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing and leading teams to deliver the project(s) for clients
  • Responsible for meeting specific revenue targets within the Services organization
  • Oversee the day-to-day project activities and deliverables, including managing schedules, financials, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery
  • Makes personnel and staffing decisions on behalf of the practice
  • Assumes people management responsibilities including, but not limited to, the management of direct reports, writing and conducting annual performance reviews, managing underperformance, and serving as a hiring manager
  • Identifies and develops trusted adviser relationships with project and program stakeholders, sponsors, and other stakeholders
  • Identifies and addresses potential issues and risks that may impact project deliverables
  • Serves as the point of escalation for project-related activities, and the Customer.
  • Reports to Services leadership on project results, metrics, test and deployment management activities
  • Manages project scope and changes
  • Manages the engagement contract and Statement of Work
  • Sets and continually manages project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverables with team members and stakeholders
  • Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations to various audiences, including project team, sponsors, CIO, and key stakeholders
  • Contributes IP back to Delivery practice
  • Mentors project team members
  • May work across multiple complex projects simultaneously.

Qualifications / Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

  • Master or Post graduate’s degree required, preferably in area with technical emphasis
  • Minimum of 15 years’ professional experience, including delivery experience covering planning and mobilization

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • 10 + years of hands on Design, develop, test, maintain and document program code in accordance with user requirements, and system and technical specifications
  • Solution experience covering estimating, configuration, costing, sourcing and client interfacing/selling (RFI/RFP, Orals/Workshops)
  • Duck Creek certification in Policy Administration System experience. Additional Billing and Claims System experience preferred.
  • Experience in Cloud hosting/native development: Azure / AWS focused / Azure e.g. Api Gateway, Azure Functions
  • Deep experience in General Insurance globally and preferably with Duck Creek implementations
  • Experience framing technical solutions for General insurance providers
  • Deep understanding of Data Migration with successful results
  • Advanced strategy and planning experience to determine goals and to assist in critical support situations
  • Experience delivering Enterprise, Commercial, off-the-shelf software to a large customer base
  • Experience/knowledge of software development life cycle for P&C insurance software
  • Hands on experience with integration using various type of architecture and protocols
  • Experience with implementation of Duck Creek / Guldewire Platform solutions for Policy Administration, Claims and/or Billing is a plus
  • Any project management experience along with PMP certification would be advantageous
  • Demonstrated exp managing a client & working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

  • Experience with systems integration (Policy, Billing, Claims, Reinsurance, third-party systems)
